Information about the DSH

What is the DSH?

The DSH (German Language Proficiency Test for University Admission) is an academic language proficiency test which serves to assess whether or not applicants have acquired the language competence required to complete a degree programme at a German university. The DSH tests the applicant's listening, writing, reading and speaking skills.

Who needs the DSH?

In general, the DSH examination is mandatory for all students who have not graduated from a German school and who do not wish to study at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University as part of an exchange programme. Hence it addresses foreign students who wish to apply for and complete a degree programme at a German university.
